Historians and scientists since Herodotus and Aristotle have argued theories on why certain events transpired within society and within the natural world. Herodotus, recognized as the first Western historian, provides us with the earliest written and compiled accounts on the famous battle at Thermopylae Pass between the Greeks and Persians in 480 BCE. His recording, however, is argued by some scholars to take an Athenian perspective, distorting the facts. Aristotle's views on the behavior of the natural world and universe were accepted for over a thousand years before Copernicus turned the world upside down when stumbling over a mathematically elegant view of our solar system, which happened to be heliocentric. The further we dig into the past the muddier our views and perspectives become. Shroud in a cloak of religion, our own people attempt to tell us what is real and what isn't, regardless of contemporary discovery. The more we learn about science the more we find out how little we actually know. With the constant rivaling amongst historians and scientists over what is truth, the spectator is ignored, left in the dust. The audience for which the information is gathered in the first place is ignored more and more.

Here at World Ancestry we attempt to clean up the messy rhetoric left by the professionals, the so-called teachers. We cover a wide range of topics relating to our planet's ancestry and the creatures inhabiting it since her birth. Our goal is to share and teach those interested in the planet's dynamics and the cultures developed on it in a way devoid, for the most part, of the scientific vernacular and rhetoric that keeps the public in the dark. The purpose of studying science and history is discovery. The discovery is meaningless if the rest of the world speaks a different language. In the quest for knowledge, we volunteer to act as interpreters at the best of our abilities, digging past the jargon so that anyone can grasp the theories of interest. Granted we might blur the lines on occasion, but we will strive to give utter objectivity. We are but human, however, and will always succumb to our own opinions and perspectives, hopefully unintentionally. Our purpose is to offer information in a comprehensive and educational manner whereby any person of any educational background can appreciate. No webs are spun here and we try to tie every bit of information provided neatly into a comprehensible sock-metaphorically speaking. To understand our nature, we must know our history. To understand our history, we must know our nature. And around we go!
